Jessica moves into a loft on the eighth floor of a Los Angeles apartment building called The Dante. The other tenants all seem friendly at first, but when she starts witnessing horrible deaths, she must team up with her neighbor Evan (Doom) to solve the mystery — and uncover her own connection to the place.

  I really didn’t understand this movie…it looked really good at first…but it’s like random events…it didn’t make any sense…

  It seems pretty self-explainory to me. She died in the first take and was doomed to keep repeating the events that led to her death until she decided to stay with the one she loved (the man) and not let him go, like she did her litte brother. It was a never ending story until she finally made the right choice. Im not sure why the other tenants lived.

  yeah i got that part but I really can’t figure out why and how did the other tenants live if they’re all dead already?!?! pretty weird.

  Well the tenants are still alive because she choses a different path this time “Stay with his lover and not jump in the window” Cause if she jumps in the window the attention of the police that was seen coming would be on her, not with others who are still trapped in the fire, She did’nt jump that means the attention of the rescuing police would be focused on those who are trapped tenants. She made the right choice after a 20***** times of her life that was keep on repeating itself cause its a circle, life is like a circle it means that what if you lived to do the same thing all over again in your next life, this time she did differently cause obviously she needed to redeem herself from her past mistakes, thats what’s all the tapes in the file room means attempt 1,2,3 and so forth. Hope this one helps

  very boring couldnt understand the foundation of the story at all. Are those people ghost or human being but at last all of them is alive except the hero and the heroine? Very confused of the story. Dunno what the director trying to tell us!!!!!!!!!!!

  Ok – I understand what CAICEN is saying and that makes sense – but what about when the firefighters went into the apartment to find them and nothing was there. They flashed a light on the armoire and Evan and Jessica’s bodies weren’t there.

  What was up with Ed? He knew everything. So did everyone else for that matter! Was she in hell, forced to relive her past mistake until she redeemed herself? Everything that happened seemed random. They seemed to be in the real world, excpt for when they were in the Dante. Everything looped when she screwed up, but only the tenents knew about it. I just don’t get it…

  If they knew everything why couldn’t they just tell her what was gonna happen.

  Ok so, I undertood the movie and that she had to relive everything until she finally got it right but, what happened to Evan and her when they checked the apartment at the end after the fire? Also, the first time around they showed us those tenants dead like, hung and strangled and electricuted. Why didn’t that happend again? I don’t see how “passing thru” can even say that it is self-explanitory. There are deffinately some pieces that don’t fit.
